Already it is the middle of march, and i have spent most of it in hibernation, including the summer....waiting for an operation on my shoulder (2nd time lucky?) the summer was uneventful.
winter was not what was forcast and nor is spring,so bascially we know nought about anything!
Son and daughter are doing well, son in 2nd yr of uni,and preparing to interlecthly bafflle the world with his knowledge. While daughter has passed her driving test..finallly at great expense to me.unfortunalty the houshold income doesn't stretch to a car and insurance, maybe fluffy dice to start with... she is looking for some work but has decided to build up her stamina (shes been ill for a long time and is beginining to get better slowly) with volunteering at the exmoor pony centre ,she loves these beasts ,they can be very challenging 'teenagers', this way she gets her wish and (hopefully) the beasts get theirs!
Hubby, bless him is working hard at earning the bread and jam for us,whilst supporting a tetchy, attention seeking wife who is in (a) pain 90% of her day.
Once the weather is warmer us locals come out of houses ,blinking at the stark light and head for the local pubs to do 'girls who lunch' whilst sunning themselves with oversized shades and a springer at their feet,it doesn't have to be there dog, just a dog!.The tourists arrive and we have this wrenching desire to inform anyone who will listen that 'we are local!' as if that makes us superior or daft, not sure which,or maybe we should be apologising for our wet dogs, the tourists are envious of our 'simple way of life' isn't that patronising US? and the fact that our lunch is a long one on a week day.....

what a day!
Now if you are reading this ,it is either that you are very bored or have stumbled across me by mistake-either way I'm not fussed.
I guess now you want some 'ramblings' to entertain you..? well i won't be writing every day, maybe once a week-couldn't cope with the disappointment of no followers..yes i am slightly vain and would like 1 comment!!
I'm in my forties ,married for 25 years (yes really) and have one son at Uni ,who is actually studying, and one daughter aged 17 who is learning to drive and has the whole world in her hands.hubby has been a rural postie for nearly 21 yrs,who can make me laugh out loud and irritate the knickers off me!!.
What do i do for entertainment, here on Exmoor? well we no longer burn people at the stake nor chase them over the moor (More's the pity) i have lived on Exmoor for over 30 yrs and married a 'local'
I am still an anti-hunt supporter, albeit silently in social circles (you end up being set upon by the other locals) oh sorry went off the path there, where was i ,ah yes what to do for entertainment-well if you are looking for a night out then their is the usual pubs and restaurants in and around and very good too,but i love nothing more than the suppers and dinner parties which is rather like 'come dine with me'-which is where i end for tonight and will tell you about some crazy nights here on Exmoor.
